Back in 2014, I had purchased my first ND filter (10 stops) for our trip to Iceland and I started dealing with long exposure photography more seriously. To me, it is the most pleasing and relaxing style of photography since you need to deal with your subject more intensively, not at least because of waiting for the exposure to finish (what might take up to several minutes). You will necessarily use a tripod and therefore setting up the composition, adjusting your timer and so on requires you to have a closer look at the scene and to take your time. Today, the biggest part of my portfolio consists of long exposures. While waterfalls are the most obvious subject for taking long exposure photographs I also like to use the ND filter to soften cloudy skies or revealing reflections on a water surface.
